As primarily a Desktop user I never had the need to use external storage devices for my photography and videography. However, once I moved all my work mobile I know I seriously needed to think about my work being safe and sound within an external drive that could take hits all year round and still protect my data.
After many tests between multiple external solid state storage devices, I found the most reliable and protective was the Lacie Rugged 1TB storage unit. I've already had my fair share of external drives crashing and I didn't want it to happen again. I also didn't want to have to cover my storage drive with bubble wrap hoping it didn't explode in my backpack.
For anybody who is serious about high-quality material and keeping their data safe, I'd recommend going with the Lacie rugged line!
