Imagine a new kind of live music event that pairs the best food and drinks from each region with some of the most popular musical artists of the time, traveling between trendy cities in the US. That’s the vision from Sean Evans, Matthew and John, co-founders of MyWineSociety and creators of the newest festival to hit Austin, Blended Festival.
John told us to think of Blended not as a music festival with food, but more as a food and wine festival combined with amazing music. This year, Blended is in San Diego, Nashville, and Austin, with the hopes of expanding to over 20 cities in the next few years. The two-day event attracted thousands of folks to the Long Center’s grand lawn at Butler Park in downtown Austin.
It was definitely classier than a typical music festival, with wine tastings at a massive wine tent, celebrity chefs, a Maxim VIP village and a variety of activations and photo opportunities. Local artists Blackillac got the party started on Friday, with Bryce Vine and Loud Luxury closing out Friday night. DJ’s Kim Lee and Brandi Cyrus brought the energy at the Summit stage, with mega-successful musicians Kaskade and Nelly closing out Saturday night.
